Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) announced the opening of electronic registration for citizens aged between 15 and 21 years to join the ninth session of the national initiative “Yes to Work” which will be organized by Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) from December 18 to January 5, 2017 in selected business retails in six cities across the UAE, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Zayed City in the Western Region, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. The Director General of Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), H.E. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, stressed that the new course of "Yes to Work" comes within the framework of the directives of the wise leadership to develop various means that enable young people to work and invest in various fields that entrench the role of young national cadres in the market The ninth session of the initiative will continue its success in empowering young citizens in general and students -female students in particular- to operate them during part-time school vacations in the retail and private sector sectors, including Who have a distinguished work experience that allows them to identify the mechanisms of work in these areas where those who meet the condition of age can participate for the first time, while those who participated before can complete the rest of the four levels of the program and then complete the requirements that qualify them to obtain the certificate approved by the National Qualifications Authority.

For the first time, Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) organized technical and vocational “Skills Challenge” where over 600 UAE nationals participated

His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of ACTVET, inaugurated the first edition of the technical and vocational “Skills Challenge”, organized by ACTVET, from 11 January to 14 February 2023 at Applied Technology High Schools across all emirates in the UAE saw a participation of more than 600 male and female nationals, competing in 13 specialized skills. The challenge kicked off on 11th and 12th January at the Applied Technology Park in Falaj Al Mualla, Umm Al Quwain and had a great turnout and engagement from the students.

His Excellency Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi said that the first edition of the "Skills Challenge" is aligned with ACTVET’s mission to identify and select 250 Emirati talented students, from distinguished competencies in the aforementioned disciplines, to participate in Emirates Skills National Competition, and then join the Emirates Skills team, which represents the country in the World Skills Competition.

UAE ranked first globally in the TVET sector in the Global Knowledge Index 2022

​The UAE ranked first globally in the technical and vocational education and training sector in the Global Knowledge Index 2022, issued by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation.

This achievement affirms UAE's efforts in implementing sustainable development goals and its vision for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system, which is one of the key pillars that contributes in enhancing the country's competitiveness.

H.E Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET), said "This achievement reflects the wise leadership efforts to achieve the best for the UAE society and develop national competencies to ensure a promising and sustainable future for future generations.

ACTVET attracts large audience for the Abu Dhabi Family Forum with 8 specialized skills workshops.

​The Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) succeeded in attracting large audience for the third Abu Dhabi Family Forum, to actively participate in 8 high-quality technical workshops that simulate virtual reality, and specialize in 3D printing, automobile technology, car painting, electrical installation, welding, web design technology, mobile robotics and electronics.

These activities took place at the "Family, Artificial Intelligence and Future Skills" stall at the Forum, organized by Family Development Foundation, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, Mother of Nation at Al Hudayriat Island in Abu Dhabi, under the slogan "Quality of Family Life in the Fifty Years."

His Excellency Dr Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training said, "Raising awareness and developing specialized technical and engineering skills among all generations in UAE society are the strategic goals of "TVET System". Our leadership's vision and aspiration to enable UAE nationals to become a primary source of the nation's wealth and pillars of its continued development are accomplished through this system.

Dr. Mubarak emphasized that ACTVET's participation in the third Abu Dhabi Family Forum is consistent with the center's commitment to actively participate a variety national initiatives and community engagements that aims to enhance the skills of UAE citizens, including the prestigious programs of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for Excellence and Community Intelligence. We are pleased that the Family Development Foundation has had outstanding success with all their activities for the third year in a row.

An agreement granting graduates of “Fatima College” the priority of appointment to the “National Rehabilitation”

Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Rehabilitation Center, witnessed the signing ceremony of the partnership agreement concluded by the Center, with the Fatima College of Health Sciences, affiliated to the Institute of Applied Technology at the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training; In health sciences and all fields of common interest, according to which priority is given to college graduates, for appointment to the National Rehabilitation Center. 

The agreement was signed by Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Manan Al-Awar, Director-General of the Institute, and Dr. Hamad Al-Ghafri, Director-General of the Center, in the presence of Dr. Daryl Corniche, Director of the College, Issa Al-Marzouqi, Acting Director of Applied Technology High Schools, and a number of officials. 

Dr. Al-Awar said that the agreement comes within the framework of the center's strategy, which focuses on achieving important goals, including the localization of vital sectors in the country, foremost of which is the medical sector, which has the highest priority for the wise leadership, and by enabling the college to graduate national competencies in many medical specialties. To ensure that national cadres are able to efficiently perform specialized tasks in hospitals and medical institutions. 

He explained that the agreement enables the center, to benefit from the expertise of the teaching staff, to support the center's activities, tasks and specializations, as well as the college's responsibility to provide the center with students who have outstanding skills and abilities for practical training during the study, so that the center will give them job opportunities upon graduation, in accordance with the rules and regulations in force at the center. Giving priority to employment to them, and coordinating together to hold educational and educational activities in the center's specializations.
